About

Everything below this was true up until November 2010 when I picked up my iPhone and started taking some pictures of Selfridges Christmas windows. Four hours later my cell phone battery was dead and then I spent the whole of 2011 taking pictures. I discovered street photography and I’m not sure if I can ever go back or even tie this in with my previous character design work. I think the main thing is that I now need to stick at one thing and NOT get suddenly seduced by some other love. It feels like maybe this is the real thing. Only because when I pick up the camera I can just step into the flow. There’s no procrastination. And I really enjoy being with other photographers.

I love character design. I’ve always been an artist; loved building things, drawing things, colouring in and especially making portraits and characters.

I run a London based group for cartoon artists www.meetup.com/CartoonHrt – that’s anyone who does anything with a cartoon kind of style: fantasy, graphic, bright clean colours, funny. It used to be called pop art in the 60s. So that includes a lot of genres and not only visuals… At the moment we have illustrators, cartoonists, fashion designers, tattooists, character designers and more in the group. Oh and not forgetting animators.

This blog is a showcase of my work, an insight into the workings of my cartoon brain and links and comments on stuff I like.

I work four days a week on web content production for a big corporate company and at least one day a week on the Cartoon Heart Club and my own art work.
